The solicitors and registered european lawyers amongst you have received an important piece of post from the Law Society in the past few days...

It has been a busy few weeks for me and the JLD, and so I am afraid that this blog comes to you a little later than intended. The final run of launch events is now complete – these ran on 21, 22 and 28 February in Leeds, Cambridge and London, respectively.

It has been a very busy week and there is a lot to update you on! The JLD Executive is taking a well-earned rest from launch events this week, after the Manchester event on the 7th last week which was our biggest and best attended event yet!

There is lots going on for the JLD, and I feel like my feet don’t touch the floor at the moment. Last Friday (its February already!) the JLD tour bus reached Cardiff for the Welsh date in our round-the-country tour.

And so… the JLD launch events continue! The 25 January 2008 saw the JLD hit Must Bar in Birmingham. Thanks go to the BTSS and the BYSG for hosting us, and of course to Taylor Root for sponsoring us.

The JLD has had its very first members’ launch party – held at Bordeaux Quay in Bristol. Thanks are due to the Bristol TSG for hosting us, and also to the Bristol Law Society and the South West Regional Manager for their support of the event.

Happy new year! You’ve arrived at the website for the newly formed Junior Lawyers' Division of the Law Society of England and Wales (lovingly abbreviated to the ‘JLD’). The JLD is a new start for the representation of junior lawyers – so when better to launch it than the new year?
