The Junior lawyers Division Pro Bono Awards
The Pro Bono Awards provide an opportunity to give public recognition to the invaluable pro bono work undertaken by the JLD community.
The annual awards celebrate the outstanding pro bono work undertaken by LPC students, trainee and newly admitted solicitors and qualified solicitors with up to five years experience. They recognise individual pro bono activities and participation in team projects.

Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards
The sixth Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) Awards was sponsored by the Law Society and celebrated the work of legal aid practitioners who have dedicated their careers to the service of some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Nominations were made in nine categories:
- Criminal Defence
- Mental Health
- Family
- Legal aid firm/not-for-profit-agency
- Young Solicitor
- Barrister
- Immigration and Asylum
- Social and Welfare
- Young Barrister
There was also an award for Outstanding Achievement decided by the judging panel chaired by Cherie Booth QC.
